The bridge is dominated by curves. Curves are psychologically linked to safety; we prefer curves because they signal a lack of threat. Curves also assist in promoting flow; crowds can move in whatever direction they see fit and this flowing design is hard and liquid at the same time.

Image Captures and Architecture

The shadow projections resulting from variations in natural light are integral to the marker's concept.

*Materials intended for metallic finish and embossed as can be seen in the Lumion image captures.
** I chose to omit any curves in my design as I believe it detracted from its aesthetics and counteracted my concept.
*** The version of Lumion Russell provided would not allow me to import objects and so I could only use the Educational demo in which you cannot save. Therefore I am unable to provide a link to the file in drop box.

Concepts

I picked the telephone tower site. My marker coexists with the built and natural environment, its use of verticals reminiscent of the telephone tower. However, simultaneously, its rectilinear form contrasts with the surrounding dominance of curves within the natural slope of the adjoining land to the road and nearby curved playing fields. The marker takes advantage of the height of the telephone tower to aid in peripheral visibility yet is not overly conspicuous as to cause attention to be diverted from driving.
